There's a small diner down on main street
She has calloused hands and sore feet
She's been through more than you can understand
Yet she still dreams about Cheyenne

Only pictures she has seen, in magazines
And rumors of miles in between on the tv screen
She holds on tight to her man
While she day dreams of Cheyenne

And the road is long and hard
Full of bad dreams and broken hearts
She ll hold on as long as she can...
Keep on dreaming of cheyenne

She don't mind a bad joke once in awhile
Considers herself one most of the time
She ll keep herself laughing while she can
Keep on dreaming of cheyenne
