What's YOUR Favorite Song?by Jack Hayford, DurangoSong.com Hmmmm, what's my favorite song? I started thinking about that recently. Wow, so MANY MANY songs! I was told by a P.R.O. executive that 95% of ALL SONGS are about LOVE. So I started trying to come up with my favorite love songs. And right away I thought of an old one, called, of all things, "L-O-V-E." It was written by Burt Kaempfert and Milt Gabler and popularized by the brilliant Nat King Cole. It's a little hokey but I still like it. I also love the Bacharach/David classic, "What the World Needs Now is Love Sweet Love." How true and beautiful. And when I saw the wonderful movie, The Notebook, I was reminded how absolutely stunning is the Sammy Fain classic, "I'll Be Seeing You." Incredible song! My favorite modern love song is "Heart of the Matter" written by Don Henley, Mike Campbell, and J. D. Souther. It contains one of my all-time favorite lines, "I think it's about forgiveness...forgiveness...even if...even if...you don't love me anymore." That sums it up for a lot us!
