Stefani Scovolo- Singer and Songwriter
by Stefani Scovolo
(Los Angeles California)
My passion for singing and songwriting began at the age of 12 when I awoke at 3 am in the morning to write my first song called Set It Free. I attended a performing and visual arts high school in Houston, TX where I grew up and graduated with a Music Business degree from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. It was there that I developed a love for great songs. I have an ongoing singer songwriter showcase here in LA as a "songwriter round" which is also something that I gleamed from the great, intimate, interactive rounds in Nashville.
Something I am very excited about right now is my new, solo album. I should be ready to release it in February when I will send it to various contacts in the industry and to seek opportunities on how to officially release it. Film and other media interest me and I am definitely interested in licensing opportunities as well as other various outlets. My album tells a story of the chapters in my life and they have deep emotion and come from my soul. From the use of strings and piano to nylon string guitar, ukelele, and glockenspiel, the songs all have a simple but relatable nature. Artists like Adele, Stevie Nicks, Sara Mclachlan, Leona Lewis, Dido, and even Celine Dion are among the few that have inspired me to come out with something real, honest, fragile, and truly heartfelt.
I have been active lately in writing , recording on tracks in the dance music genre, but I desire to set up some local L.A. cowrites with other songwriters and producers. This is something I would like to do more of in 2012...more co-writing in LA. In 2010, I had three number one songs in Japan with Warner Music, Recording Artist, Keana Texeira that charted on charts other than BIllboard but it was an overall success. So far in 2011, I have had a release on Moda, a Warner distributed label out of Italy, with a dance music DJ and producer featuring me as Vocalist and Songwriter on the release. Next up is a release with a DJ duo on Armada Music which is one of the biggest labels in the dance music genre.
I have my own publishing company under ASCAP and will become BMI affiliated this summer. I do not have one exclusive manager, label, agent , or worldwide publisher as of now. I am looking for a team and for potential representation for my solo artist career as well as songwriting career. With a team, it would enable me to focus more on my creative work.
