Stan

by Orsen
(Canada)

Still remember the day
when the boss called me in
he said "Stan I'm sorry"
and I spiralled down again

And I landed, on America's deadend
Where everything I own is in my pockets
and everything I had is in my head

They say white collar crime
is always victimless
Then why does the new minority
have no fixed address

I've just landed, on America's deadend

Now I walk the streets
I hear "get a job"
While I've had three this year
and been laid off from them all

I've fallen so far
don't care what I've lost
Now the best part of my day
is smoking the butt you just tossed

I've just landed, on America's deadend

When they do a class study
They'll have to lower the bar
cause the new lower class lives in the alley
the new middle class in their car

I've just landed, on America's deadend

That crack you might slip through
is now a mile wide
So I'll see you in the Colosseum
where 1% can watch us fight

I've just landed on America's deadend
Where everything I own is in my pockets
and everything I had is in my head
