Sophie Rose was born in Los Angeles on Christmas Day, 1999. She's lived in the equestrian community of Hidden Hills since she was 2 years old. So, although she’s from LA, she is a country girl at heart.
Sophie has been singing almost as long as she has been talking. When she was younger, Sophie admired artists such as Britney Spears, The Cheetah Girls and Miley Cyrus. Then, Sophie discovered country music and Taylor Swift. Taylor was her inspiration! Sophie began taking guitar lessons in the summer of 2009. She also began writing songs in earnest – often spending long hours locked in her room writing.
Sophie Rose recorded her first CD in the summer of 2011 at Sound Stage Studio in Nashville. Her debut album features her beautiful voice accompanied by some of the most talented musicians in the country: Biff Watson on Acoustic Guitar; JT Corenflos on Electric Guitar; Joe Chemay on Bass Guitar; Mike Johnson on Pedal Steel Guitar; Jimmy Nichols and John Hobbs on Keyboards; Larry Franklin on Fiddle; and Eddie Bayers on Drums.
The CD was produced by multi-award winner Steve Dorff and engineered by John Guess. Sophie wrote or co-wrote eight of the ten songs. The other two, "Somewhere In The World" and "Big Day" were written by multi-award winner Andrew Dorff.
Sophie is currently working in a Los Angeles studio recording ten new songs written exclusivley by her!
