Songwriting Tip from Pro Song Plugger Taylor Morrison

I have been in the music industry most of my life......with family in the industry ie: Jim Morrison of the Doors, and Sara Evans...besides in my early career singing backup vocals for top pop artists ie: George Harrison of the Beatles etc..

Now I song plug songs to Major Artists in Pop and Country and Ive learned that what a songwriter needs to do is simply write .....write .......write and collaborate with someone else if they get stuck. Two heads are better than one.
Be around positive people that believe in you as I see many being shot down by their closest family members telling them they are in a dream world and they will never make it as a songwriter..

Being in an office with songs I represent Ive seen how the initial first few seconds of a song must get their attention and you must get to the chorus within 60 seconds or you lose their attention.

Also.... many people think they can present a rough demo to a major artist (NOT).. You're competing with top pro songwriters so have your song commercial ready as in ..it must be good enough to put on the radio.
