Red carpet at BMI Xmas Party

Red carpet at BMI Xmas Party

Red carpet at BMI Xmas Party With VP Catherine of BMI and other HIt writers Selau, Dave of BMI, Billy Falcon & Elisha-her Nashville crew

"Traditional soul hip pop" is the mixture that defines music artist/writer Selau, the next sensation to surface from the Bay Area. Selau, which means 100%, demonstrates a variety of skills in music entertainment. From reggae to pop, from background singer to lead vocalist, and dance company owner to songwriter-Selau is a powerhouse package that delivers a performance of diverse knowledge.

With roots embedded from the island of Samoa, her mother and father strongly influenced her talents at an early age. Selau's father was a reggae singer, guitarist, and writer, while her mother traveled the world as a hula dancer. This family of talented entertainers has given her a strong foundation of which to create her own identity. "I was already born into this," Selau says.

She broke into the business first writing hooks with the Bay's Super Stars sharing vocals on songs "I Don't Really Wanna Go" by Keak Da Sneak and "Love to Luv U" by The Team. She has also written and sung hooks for San Quinn, Ya Boy, Messy Marv, Yukmouth, Hoodstarz, etc.

In 2007 Selau experienced solo success when her 1st single "A Man That Goes" featuring Goldie Gold of The Federation, shot to Number#1 in rotation on radio stations all over the West Coast with over 10,000 spins independently.

Selau has an endless list of professional singing experience, headlining coliseums next to Ciara, Omarion, Boys II Men, Ginuwine, and singing backup vocals for American Idol's Latoya London. She also sold out the Bill Grapham Civic Auitorium as the only performance that night.

Last quarter in 2011, Selau was featured in BMI's Music Word Magazine chosen by BMI VP Catherine Brewton to represent the Pop/R&B genre.

Selau is currently in ATL ghostwriting for other artist and working on her debut album, Always Selau. On this project fans will enjoy quality music that is flavorful as Selau's skills as a writer and vocalist will be showcased. In addition to her own talent, Selau has collaborated with some of the industry's heavy hitters and so this new project promises to be a classic. So ready or not, here comes Selau and she's going to give the game 100%.
