Rushed As Is Time
by Austin LaBrie

Just a picture of a Sharknado, LaBruze Podcast official image.
As quickly as the love in one's heart fades.
As hurried as the gruff boys who flock to pray.
As sudden as a passing to numb the day.
There's a lesson in learning time won't forsake
As abrupt as a feeling from the other sex,
as blunt as it is when the feeling ends.
As fleeting as a fellow who just doesn't get it,
as rapid as a racy girl who just loses interest.
As fast as a communion before the bore,
of the zippy boys & girls down on the floor
that swiftly whine soon as they enter the door
of pious priests who foolishly expect more.
As promptly as a death of a family friend
makes hasty promises for friends to attend
the Requiem but just make the Vigil
because the velocious don't care for individuals.
But just as slowly as it takes to begin
to end the fucked path taken with chagrin;
an inert towing of time shown on the skin
halts the crawl back to the lesson that will be kissing your kin.
