Mike Getches

Mike was born in Boston Mass and relocated to Colorado during the 6th grade. His first band called The Unsinkable Molly Brown toured the mid west extensively and shared the stage with bands like Rise Against, Yellowcard, Mustard Plug and Reel Big Fish. Mike then moved back to Boston to study film and Emerson College. During his studies he signed his solo effort to Deep Elm Records under the name Ride Your Bike. He released "Bad News From The Bar" to critical acclaim. He released a second EP with Deep Elm entitled "The Connection". Shortly thereafter he linked up with producer Mike Daly (Plain White T's, Sherwood) and a new band was born called Research Material. Research Material's songs have already been placed on major television stations like MTV, E, Style!, HGTV, Cartoon Network and many others. Mike is now producing records and writing songs. He has written for Faith Hill and produced albums for bands like Sundownchasing as well as his own work. Mike is now 24 years old and has handled most aspects of the industry. He owns a record label called Record Records (recordrecs.com) and works at Velvet Hammer Music Management (Cypress Hill, Deftones, System of a Down and Alice in Chains).
