Lorna Flowers

by Lorna F
(Nashville, TN, USA)

MARCH 2008 - just about to file for my Green Card. Still doing what I love and loving what I do ...just had a Bluebird Cafe show (full house and SRO) with 3 No. 1 hit writers (Kirsti Manna, Arlos Smith and Tim Johnson) and we raised $300 for Gilda's Club, via a tip jar. Also, from March 24th I start a new Writers Night in Nashville with my friend and co-host Kirsti Manna (who wrote Blake Shelton's mega-hit "Austin", Big & Rich's current hit "Loud" and tons of other stuff). We'll be at ON THE ROCKS on Demonbruen from 6 to 9.30pm

JULY 2007 - a flurry of cuts and firsts ...My first USA release is by the wonderful Kathy Chiavola on her acclaimed CD "Somehow". The song is "I Wouldn't Be Here"......... my first USA radio jingle - on top radio station 95.5 The Wolf in Nashville. The voiceover (and vocals on "I'm Having A Good Day") are by one of their top DJ's - Karen Keeley. The ad is for a weekly event at Longshots on Demonbreun starting July 25th so the ad should run for a while..... a cut on Lucie Diamond's critically acclaimed new CD "I Wanna Be Rich" released in June. "Don't Even Think About It" (a Shelley Jacobson co-write) was the lead single from the album and hit 1 in Oz and 2 in Poland, among other chart entries.....2 cuts on Arlene Bailey's new CD in Ireland (Crashed Records) released on July 24th .....and celebrating my 3rd anniversary of moving to Nashville on July 25th. ....life is good :-)

FEBRUARY 4th 2007 - "Touch Me With Your Tenderness" won the "BEST SONG" award in the 2006 UK Country Radio Awards (awards in feb 2007). The song was released by John McCane on his new album and he also co-wrote the song

Lorna helped Memphisto Music put together UK tour dates for ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Rivers Rutherford, who was in the UK from April 9th-15th, performing and leading songwriter workshops. Such was the success of the tour that talks have begun to bring him to the UK again later in 2007.

In January 2006 "I'm Not Ready Yet" was "Song of the Month" in the UNISONG song contest and it eventually placed 3rd in the final contest. It was also RUNNER UP in the JOHN LENNON SONG CONTEST (session 1) in August 2006.

Lorna moved from the UK to Nashville in July 2004. Signed a staff writing deal with Yellow Jersey Music in July 2005 which recently ended with the company closing due the the illness of the owner. Lorna is now looking for a new deal.
