Just Your Little Play Thing

by Leah Bilquist
(Asbury Park, NJ)

I guess I jumped the gun on this one

I just wanted you so badly to be real

But I took the jump start

Decided to open my heart

So madly I wanted to be able to feel

But the story rewrites itself again and again

I was just your little play thing

And the same chapter begins just to end

I was just your little play thing

I was just your little play thing

I guess It is my fault this time

I just wanted you so badly to be real

But I took the plunge

Even though it was over before it begun

I guess I just wanted to finally heal

But the story rewrites itself again and again

I was just your little play thing

And the same chapter begins just to end

I was just your little play thing

I was just your little play thing

I am known for taking chances

Exchanging lusting stares & second glances

I just wanted you so badly to be real

So I let down my guard and I fell hard

I just wanted so madly to feel

Now I will just do what I do

My signature move

When I make an excuse

I’ll say you were being my muse

When really I was just being used

I can’t wait to see who will be my next mistake

I can’t wait to see who will take your place

But the story rewrites itself again and again

I was just your little play thing

And the same chapter just begins and ends

I was just your little play thing

And once I again I don’t really feel anything

You were just my little play thing
