Jewels Hanson

(Nashville, TN)

Jewels Hanson

Jewels Hanson

Forget everything you know about women in country music. In an industry teeming with heartbreak-tinged, sweet-voiced female balladeers, Jewels Hanson is setting the record straight; she does not belong in that category.

Hanson, a singer-songwriter from Fremont, California, is a champion of the strong, single, red-blooded woman. She sings and writes about what she knows best: boys, whiskey, motorcycles and honky-tonks. As a performer Hanson serves up performances that showcase her energy, electrifying personality and guileless talent.

Now residing in Nashville, Hanson commutes to California regularly to perform alongside her band, Appaloosa, at the San Francisco Bay Area’s popular venue, The Saddle Rack. She also was a member of the award-winning gospel group BLU99 (Believer’s Local Union 99) and was a National Finalist in both the 1998 True Value & 2004 Colgate Country Showdowns, the world’s largest country music talent search.

An avid sports fan, Hanson’s enthusiasm and athleticism won her the 1992 United Spirit Association’s National Champion Individual Cheer-Leader title, and she has performed the National Anthem at over 20 professional sporting stadiums including Dodger Stadium and Candlestick Park.

Hanson has opened for several top Country Artists, including Tracy Byrd, Trick Pony, Dwight Yoakam, Trace Adkins, Darryl Worley, Emerson Drive, Blake Shelton, Chris Cagle, Mark Chestnut, Billy Currington, Dierks Bentley, Jamie O'Neal, Jessica Andrews, Phil Vassar, Josh Gracin, and Gary Allan. She is also a model and spokesperson for TheCoyoteJunction.com urban country apparel. Most recently, Hanson appeared as a Top 10 Finalist on Season 4 of the USA Network’s “Nashville Star”.

Hanson began singing in church at an early age and soon began to dabble in musical theater. She appeared as a regular on the CBS Television series, “Child’s Play,” and appeared in various theater productions including “Peter Pan,” “Sound of Music” and “Annie.” This early experience in show business led her to crave bigger and better things. She found her own confident style, her own niche, and since then has been working diligently to share it with others.

Armed with a Business degree from USC, Hanson dabbled briefly with corporate life, but eventually her passion for music provoked her to quit her successful Marketing career and pursue her music full-time.

Her hard work, talent, charisma, and writing ability have made it possible for her to do just that. After only a short time in Nashville, where she has been writing intensely as a staff writer for the successful publishing company, Larga Vista Music, Hanson has accomplished what it takes most writers years to do. As a better writer and a more seasoned performer - she performs regularly at Nashville music hotspots – Hanson is on the fast track to stardom and her own brand of success.
