Hit Songwriter Bios—Pam Sheyne

A native of Auckland, New Zealand, Pam Sheyne is making her first appearance at the Expo at Wine Country 2013 AND is the Pop writer in our 2013-1 WWAHM contest! Welcome Pam!!

Pam Sheyne is a successful and notable session singer as well as a hit songwriter. She has done backing vocal work for the likes of Darryl Hall, Mike and the Mechanics, Louise, Boyzone, Geri Halliwell, Cyndi Lauper, Nik Kershaw, Elton John, Trisha Yearwood, Michael McDonald and Celine Dion (singing back-up vocals on Celine's UK No.1 Hit "Think Twice").

As a songwriter Pam has had even greater success, co-writing the world-wide smash hit and title cut of the multi-platinum selling "Genie In A Bottle" recorded by Christine Aquilera.

"Genie" was released in the USA in June 1999 spending five weeks at the Top of the Hot 100, 2 weeks at Number One in the UK and became No.1 in 25 other world-wide territories winning Pam 2 BMI awards and an Ivor Novello award for "International Hit of the Year" in 2000. Additionally she penned end titles for Disney's "The Princess Diaries" and "Confessions of A Teenage Drama Queen" with songs in "The Princess Diaries 2" and "The Master of Disguise".

These days Pam is working harder than ever having relocated to Los Angeles in 2008. Following construction of a state of the art studio up in the Hollywood Hills, Pam has formed a production partnership with Aron Friedman working on the development of new talent, music for film and television and collaborating with recording artists from all over the world.
