San Diego-based singer/songwriter Diane Waters has been a regular at the Expo for a number of years. She is a very talented lady and a diligent networker in the songwriting world. Her efforts have paid off: she has written with many of the top writers who have appeared at the Expo. Her songwriting maturity is obvious as well, which led to her being named runner-up in BOTH the Pop and Country categories in the Expo's 2008 "Write With A Hit-Maker" songwriting contest. Congratulations Diane and THANKS for being a notable and important part of our songwriting community!

"When people ask me how I can write songs, I tell them that I don't know how not to write. It's just in me. I've been writing songs since I was 10 years old. I never stopped and thought...I'd like to write a song one day. When I got my first piano, it just started happening within a few weeks. I guess my music was waiting for a vehicle. Years later I picked up the guitar to see what kind of sounds I could make with it...I started writing new material on day two of that adventure."
