Andy Sydow - Blues/Rock/Folk/Americana





At just 21 years of age, Andy Sydow is a mainstay in Denver’s music scene. He spent the summer of 2012 sharing the stage with the likes of Delbert McClinton, Dick Dale, Clay McClinton, Bob Margolin and The Delta Sonics. He sat in on piano in Bob Margolin’s band when he came through town, and he sits in regularly with Westword Denver's top blues band of 2012, the Delta Sonics, and the acclaimed traditional jazz group, the Queen City Jazz Band. Sydow is also the band leader for the the internationally recognized Claim Jumpers Jazz Band, the top jazz ensemble at the University of Colorado Denver. The Claim Jumpers in recent years have been invited to festivals both nationally and abroad. His current solo project, comprised of a sousaphone, tenor sax, and drums as backing, plays in the Denver area frequently and has built up quite a fan base locally. As a solo artist he has played nationally and took first place in the Denver Performing Arts Center's Johnny Cash cover contest in 2012. In just a few short years as a professional, Sydow has built up a reputation for his songwriting, piano playing, and unique style of slide guitar. He is currently working on finishing his undergraduate in music performance at the University of Colorado Denver, and recording his first full length album.
