Hey Everybody HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EACH AND ALL! Relax and have a fun and safe holiday!
Next week we will announce the details of the next "Write With A Hitmaker" (2011-1) songwriting contest and begin to take submissions. The contest will have a new twist this year: a FILM and TV Category. We've made a special arrangement with our good friend Rich Goldman at Riptide Music in LA. The prize will be different (and separate) in this new category...and it's a GREAT PRIZE! AND you can think VOCAL or INSTRUMENTAL track. But remember this is for use in a Film or TV show (shhhhhhhh) so it has to be MASTER QUALITY. If you don't know what that means, find out and submit appropriately (we'll be talking about the allowable formats on the submission form...coming next week).
IF YOU ARE IN NASHVILLE 12/1 and want to play on mrJack's DSE combo party with June and Tom of Ash Street Music (see below), email jack right away at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are time slotting now.
There are some GREAT FARES AVAILABLE to fly into LAX and BURBANK on Southwest Airlines if you act quickly. Save some money...get your Santa Barbara tix early if you can.
The next Expo in Santa Ynez is fast approaching and it will be bigger and better than ever! More details about the Expo and the Song Contest will be published over the next week.
Again, HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING and THANK YOU!
Get the SB 2011 Registration Form or call Jim Attebery at 970-259-9747 to register by phone.
Our NEXT IMPORTANT EXPO DATE is Dec 15th, 2010. This is the end of the Early Bird registration price of $250.
NEW! TOMMY'S TWO CENTS WORTH!
Over the years we have consistently had people ask us about song critique services. Check out Tom Gould's cool new "Two Cents Worth" service....
Publishing music may be their business, but June McHugh and Tom Gould have a broader agenda than purely stuffing the charts of Country Music Radio. "When Tom or I hear a good song or witness the raw talent of the artists we've signed, I'm awe- struck and then the protective "she-bear instinct" rises in me."
June McHugh is a nurturer with keen musical instincts as much as she is a fiercely loyal promoter and advocate for Ash Street Music's artists and pool of writers.
Check out all the recent big cuts and credits for our friends at Ash Street Music.
DSE is doing a not-to-be-missed joint gig with June and Tom and company at a cool new place on Belcourt in Hillsboro Village (just down from the theater, opposite side of the street). It's called "Hump Day Holiday Party", right June? Anyway it's going to go on for hours (starting around 5pm) at Taps and Tapas on WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 1st and we will be telling you all about it and soliciting your talents. Come check this new place out! TAPS AND TAPAS WEDNESDAY 12/1/10.
Contact mrjack about playing email@example.com. It will be a memorable holiday party! COME ON.
