EXPO-ITE MEGHAN TRAINOR #34 ON ITUNES!Update: Meghan's first single released on her new label Sony/Epic is out and kicking up the charts. As of Friday, July 11th, itunes has it at #34. Watch for Meghan on national TV shows like Today and listen for her catchy, indeed infectious, new track "All About That Bass." We are so proud to call Meghan an Expo-ite and Durangonian! :)
This is how it happens with us! Our great friend Kelley King and her very talented daughter Roxy King met Meghan Trainor and her dad at an ASCAP event. Roxy has made huge strides in her career through the Durango Songwriters Expo, which she has attended now many times. The King's suggested that the Expo would be good for Meghan too.
So Meghan came and blew everyone away with her songs and her production abilities and her MATURITY in every way, at just 17 years old. Our long-time friend, the great and legendary Big Al Anderson, also noticed Meghan's talent and introduced her to his publisher Carla Wallace at Big Yellow Dog Music in Nashville. That was just two years ago.
From there, Meghan has run the table! Two cuts on the latest Rascal Flatts CD, a record deal with SONY/EPIC RECORDS...and now a sizzling hot video pre-launching her summer smash "All About the Bass." Soon it will be EVERYWHERE as the single drops to radio June 30th and the video is already a viral hit!
Way to go team! That's what we're talking about! Durangonians making a difference and helping to bring new faces to the attention of the industry. And of course this can't happen without extreme talent and hard work by the artist...you rock Meghan! Thank you and your family for coming to our event! Maybe we can lure you back after the dust settles to give some tips to other young aspiring stars!
